NES has delivered a complete battery container to REM Inspector, with all software and control functions now tested and ready for onboard installation.

In February 2025, Norwegian Electric Systems completed delivery and system testing of a containerised battery energy storage system for the offshore construction vessel REM Inspector.

The containerised system includes a 1 MW battery pack, NES’ Quest battery charger, and an integrated control and automation solution. The package is designed to enable hybrid-electric operation and supports several key modes, including spinning reserve, peak shaving, and harbour mode.

That means less fuel, fewer emissions, and better overall efficiency at sea.

Ahead of installation, NES engineers performed software testing and verification of control system logic. This included validating communication with the vessel’s power setup and ensuring operational readiness for the hybrid configuration.

With the final testing completed, the system is now ready for commissioning onboard.
