Four DC switchboard systems ready to ship

Four DC switchboard systems ready to ship
2:27

This week we completed the final factory testing of the Quadro Master DC switchboards for the four new all-electric, highly automated ferries on the Lavik–Oppedal route. The units are now being packed for delivery to Tersan Shipyard.

The completion of factory acceptance testing marks the handover from engineering and workshop verification to the next phase. Once on board, the power system will be installed, integrated and commissioned.

As system integrator for the project, NES provides the complete package for power, automation and bridge systems, including preparations for autonomous functions. The deliveries combine design, assembly and testing across NES locations, with commissioning support at the yard.

The milestone is the result of close collaboration between project engineering, software and service. The team photo accompanying this article shows a selection of the people involved, yet many more colleagues have contributed throughout design, build, testing and preparation. See gallery in the bottom of this article for more pictures.

After shipment to Tersan Shipyard, the equipment will be mounted on board, cabled and integrated with the vessel’s systems. NES will then carry out on-board commissioning and verification in line with the project plan.
