Bergen, 24 March 2026 – Norwegian Electric Systems AS (NES) has been contracted by Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted (FMV) to supply its Raven INS (integrated navigation system) and Raven JPOS (dynamic positioning system) to a live fish carrier that is being built at the Norwegian shipyard.
The Raven INS combines radar, electronic chart display and information system, autopilot/trackpilot, alarms, and relevant sensor data into a single common user interface on the bridge. This ensures that navigators maintain consistent control and situational awareness across the same displays, regardless of bridge configuration.

“For this project, a complete turnkey bridge solution is being delivered, comprising a fully integrated navigation system, an integrated DP system, communication equipment, sensors, and associated operator consoles with monitor matrix. This award highlights the competitiveness and advanced capabilities of Raven INS – a fully integrated navigation system delivered as part of a complete turnkey bridge solution,” says Siv Remøy-Vangen, managing director of NES.
NES will commence engineering work immediately. The main bulk of equipment deliveries will be made in the first half of 2027. Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted is a quality Norwegian shipbuilder in the aquaculture segment, making major parts of the engineering in the FMV63 project in-house. This live fish carrier is under construction for Norwegian wellboat operator North Salmon Service.
In October last year, NES was awarded a contract to act as system integrator and deliver power and automation systems to the vessel.
“We are proud to be selected for another delivery to this innovative live fish carrier. Raven INS, our proprietary fully integrated navigation system, is quickly gaining a reputation among shipowners for its flexibility and user-friendly design. It delivers precise and reliable navigation and is future-ready, already equipped to support autonomous functions,” says Andreas Rønning Stein, sales manager at NES.
NES is a subsidiary of HAV Group ASA, which is listed on Euronext Growth Oslo.
