Bergen, 19 August 2025 – Norwegian Electric Systems AS (NES) has been contracted to supply its Raven INS integrated navigation system to three new ferries under construction at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.

The contract marks an important breakthrough for NES in the delivery of bridge systems, which has been strategic focus area for the company. The sale confirms that NES’ technology and expertise meet the market’s requirements and expectations.

"This shows that the market trusts our technology and expertise", Andreas Rønning Stein

This initiative builds on the acquisition of dynamic positioning (DP) system supplier Undheim Systems in 2023, which has strengthened NES’ ability to develop solutions for autonomous and semi-autonomous vessel operations. Together, these capabilities are important parts of the company’s long-term strategy to offer integrated, digital navigation solutions.

The Raven INS systems will be delivered without a console, as this will be handled by the shipyard. Delivery and testing will commence in the second half of 2026.

Andreas Rønning Stein“The fact that we deliver both navigation and communication equipment for these vessels is a clear vote of confidence from the customer. It shows that the market trusts our technology and expertise, and that we deliver solutions relevant for future maritime operations,” says Andreas Rønning Stein, sales manager at NES.

Raven INS is NES’ in-house developed, fully integrated navigation system, which has had a favourable market reception due to its flexible technology, user-friendliness, and quality. The system enables autonomous functions and sets a new standard for precision and reliability in modern navigation.

This not only strengthens our position as a technology provider but also shows that customers recognize the value we add through comprehensive and flexible solutions”, says Siv Remøy-Vangen Managing Director of NES.

NES is a subsidiary of HAV Group ASA, which is listed on Euronext Growth Oslo.
